A Month in Time...:)

March 26 –
I went to the doctor’s office today. It was a very different experience then a western doctor’s visit. First, we did not have an appointment but they got 4 of us in quickly. When it was my turn to go, the doctor put 2 fingers on my wrist and then told me all about my body. Then I went into another room with Ana nim (thank goodness), there the doctor put acupuncture needles all around my back. It kinda of tickled. Then the nurse put moxibustion on us. Moxibustion is a herb that they burn on your skin, there is a little painful but very worth it. I could feel all of the stagnant energy releasing from my fingers and toes. The best part was that the whole visit plus the medicine was only $10!!
March 27 –
Today we were very lucky and got a lecture from WonAm Sunsanim. A sunsanim is a person that is right under Dr. Ilchi Lee(SSN). There is only a hand full of them. He has a huge and amazing heart!! He shared with us many deep principles of the universe, very fascinating. We also did a training with him that helped us grow our heart and strength. Later that night we went to the YEHA teams apt and cooked dinner (American style – hamburgers) for MMnim’s Arrival! I tried making a dessert, but come to find out I could not find pudding, cool whip, or brownie mix at the grocery store. Then when I went to their apartment, I saw they had no stove either. J There was one member who made chocolate chip cookies on the stove. And MMnim arrived and we shared dinner!! It was so great to see him!! After dinner we went to karaoke.
March 28 –
The head YEHA team member loves to play sports and since he is the head guy we listen. :) Since MMnim had arrived he wanted to see his skills. :) We played Sujeko which is mix between soccer and volleyball – a lot of fun! Then we played Knock Out which is a basketball game (and I somehow always managed to make it to the end – thanks Phil and Ava). Then we went out to the soccer field and played Shoot Out and then a regular game. Great exercise – and it was beautiful outside.
March 29 –
Today we had SSN public lecture at the site of the old Olympic Village in Seoul. I felt good during the performance. Each time I get more and more comfortable, so that means I can focus on sending myself to the crowd and not so much on the technical parts of the dance.
March 30 –
Today was another public lecture with SSN. I am really enjoying each lecture. Even though it is always the same lecture, I really enjoy to see how SSN switches parts around to follow people’s energy. At the lecture we met with some Earth Stars (which are American’s that came to Korea to teach English through Dahn Yoga). They have stayed in Korea for over 4 years and don’t want to come home anytime soon. J I don’t blame them. It was great to hear their stories! After the lecture we met with YEHA from that area. We shared snacks and talked as much as we could. It is always great to connect with someone that has your same heart. Even though we may not speak much it is very comfortable! After the snacks we went out to dinner with the B-boys and Master Giya. Korean BBQ – my favorite! Then we decided to go to the movies – we ended up watching Step It Up II – quite hilarious.
March 31 –
Today our outing was going to get Visa’s. It was a simple process. There were some funny stories that went along with it though. Ashely nim needed to get her pictures for the Visa. At the place there is a picture booth were you can get them taken. Well she was preparing herself for the picture (pulling her hair behind her ear and puckering her lips) when the picture was taken. Her picture was so funny. The leader(woo SBN) we were with had a friend that worked there, and that is the only way they would take her photo.:) And then on the way home Woo SBN needed to pick something up from his father so we got to meet him. Afrkia nim gave him a big hug when she met him. His father turned red and looked at Woo SBN and put his finger to his lip as to say shhh. Come to find out, people do not hug much in Korea, especially older men who are married. Her hugging him was a form of cheating for Koreans. So the father was telling his son shhh don’t tell your mom. When we got in the car we couldn’t stop laughing. And of course, we did trainings.
April 1 -
We left early in the morning to go back to Seoul. There SSN had a lecture about a book he co-wrote about Aging Successfully. We performed and then got to listen to the lectures. The lady (jessie Jones) he co-wrote the book is from California, so it was nice to hear a lecture in English. I really all enjoyed the lectures! SSN, Jessie Jones and many doctors spoke about the brain and what we can do to stay active and healthy even into older ages. That night we ate at TGI Fridays. Even though I would never be caught at one in America, I loved it in Korea!! It was interesting to see hoe Koreans portray an American restaurant.
April 2 -
Today we left for a few days. We performed and listened to a lecture that SSN was giving at the Ministry of Education.
April 3 -
Today was a big public lecture we performed at. It was a little different today, because it was on a weekday. So there were a lot of older people and school age children. But there was still a couple thousand people there! Today I was asked to go on stage and demonstrate BrainWaveVibration (which is what the book is called and the lecture is about). I felt very honored and felt a lot of energy. So little me that does not like to dance a few years ago, was on stage in front of thousands dancing.:)
April 4 -
Today we performed at a smaller venue - Halliam University. I really enjoyed hearing how the lecture changed from college students. I also got to demonstrate BrainWaveVibration and then DahnMU (which is energy dance). It has been my favorite demo so far. I felt so calm and connected. Beautiful! Came home tonight.
April 5 -
Today was SSN lecture. During the performance I felt a lot of love and joy! I also got the honor of demoing BrainWaveVibration. This lecture was extremely joyful, all YEHAP got up during BWV and danced, the crowd was soo joyful.
April 6 -
Today was Polina SBN and Alex nim's b-day. At SSN lecture the director bought all of us (and the b-boys) donuts and milk. At the demo today I was holding back tears on stage, my heart was so open and the energy was soo big. We got Pizza today for their birthdays. And then TGI Friday's again! We went and celebrated Alex, Polina SBN and MM SBN birthdays. Then we went to a YEHA night. We did our demo for them. But then we did another dance that we taught them and they taught us a dance. It was fun. We did partner massages and talked with them. Again it is great to not be able to speak so much with them, but really connect on another level.
April 7 -
Today we did a lot of training today - we did not have any demo to do today. At night we did a big training to quiet our minds and ready ourselves for a 2-day lecture we were receiving from SSN. During thr training i really connected with my rhythm. Time flew, I felt nothing but joy. IT is really had to explain.
April 8 AND 9-
We got early and drove to Seoul to be on a talk show. So awesome. :) We talked about why we are here, what we have done. It was very interesting. Then we drove back home where we started our 2-day lecture with SSN. It is really hard to explain how big of a gift it is for us to go to this training. It is called Tao School. It is a lecture on the principles and laws of the universe. It is a small group people that get this training. SO AMAZING!!! In my diary I wrote about 8 pages about these two days, but hard to explain over the internet.
April 10 -
Today we had a lecture at a college - Dan Gun University. It is the university that SSN graduated from. We forgot the translators so we just listened with our hearts, and I really enjoyed it. I again got the honor of demonstrating BWV. We had a YEHA night and I presented my lecture and training. I was a little nervous, but mostly excited to share with YEHA. The lecture went well, technically there are things I can work on, but I really felt what I was saying which I think is the most important part. I really felt like I was making a difference.

JeJu Island!!

March 21 – MY BIRTHDAY
We flew to JeJu Island this morning! JeJu Island is a small island off the southern coast of South Korea. It is called Peace Island. There they are living the Hong Ik Philosophy. There are no gates, homeless or theft on the island. Everyone shares and takes in people, it is so beautiful!
At the airport I was greeted by the same welcome crew as I was greeted by in September when I visited; including the same bus and bus driver. I felt so much love and a warm welcome. When I got on the bus, I cried because I was so overcome with gratitude. I don’t know how I have gotten this once in a lifetime experience twice, but I am so happy. I really looked inside myself to see what I need to do here, I am here again for a reason, to do something more.
We drove straight to JeJu University, where werwhere we did a short demo to advertise for our performance at 5:00 that day. Then we went to a scared place where they used to hold heavenly ceremonies. It is said you need to pray here when you get to the island, so you do not receive bad energy. I felt a lot of energy there. We headed back to the University and performed for the students. There were only about 20 people there, which was a bummer. But we still spread the energy! The BNB (body and brain club - which is a part of the Dahn community) members at the university and us went to a Korean BBQ. GREAT FOOD, and great company! It was a lot of fun getting to know the members even though neither could speak eachothers language. Together we went to a Dahn Center and we performed for the members there. It was very HSP (healthy, smile(happiness)and peace)!! A BNB member did a famous Korean dance and we performed our ChunBuShinGong and Phoenix Dance. When we came out of the training room, there was cake, bread, juice, pop, etc for Brandon, Aaronnim and I's birthday. It was so sweet. So we all shared in the snacks. So appreciative for all they do for us - to say the least.
We drove to Kukhawkwon on JeJu Island where we slept while we were on the island.

March 22 -
Today we went to Uh-do Island off the coast of JeJu (it is where JeJu natives go for vacation). We took a short ferry ride in the morning. When we got there we rented electric scooters (sorry dad I drove one, even scarier I had a passenger). We drove around the island - I tried taking in everything I could, using all of my sense! The colors were so vibrant! Bight yellow flower, deep green grass and dark black stone walls. The smell of the ocean, the sounds of the ocean, our scooters, the I tried to be present in every moment! We stopped along the way at the beach, only Brandon and Aaronnim jumped in and froze to death. :) We took pictures and put our feet in. The day was overcast but I really enjoyed the beach - it had a mystical feel to it. Then we stopped later to eat lunch. We stopped at an Oh-dang booth and the lady let us in the back to eat our lunch. That is one of my favorite things about Korea, everyone is so helpful and everything is shared...everything!
Back on JeJu, we then got the chance to climb Sunrise Peak in the east coast of the island. Such an incredible view, again the gloominess of the day added to the dramatics of the view. At the top we performed the ChunBuShinGong and we saw a big rabbit (the day before Easter!).
We went to a center and met the Masters and practiced HSP 12 steps (hand walking) then went to a Korean Spa. It was exactly what I needed. We went into the sauna and then the hot tubs and cold tubs and back and forth. It was such a beautiful experience. It is amazing how bonding being naked can be. :)

March 23 -
Today was the day of our performance with Grand Master Lee's lecture at the International Convention Center. For me, the performance was the most fluid we have done it. I could easily connect with the energy and send it out. We sang Arirang with the b-boys, and BNB club members we met the other day. We went out to eat with Master Giya and shared then went back to where we were staying. There we did a soybean paste soup detox. :) It was interesting. They put a lining over your stomach and then put on this warm thick soybean paste and then some towels and a heating pad then wrapped you tight. We did intestine exercises (and fell asleep) for 2 hours. There was some releasing but mostly just calming and felt great.

March 24-
We woke up and got to ride the horses! I rode Smile. It was a lot of fun, I have never ridden a horse that went fast then a walk. Then we were treated (yet again) to a nice lunch buffet. Incredible food!! We then drove to JeJu City hall and met with people there and then got a tour of city hall. I really enjoyed hearing about how they are planning to get the Hong Ik Philoshophy alive and how they plan on getting more people to experience this island and what it feels like to truly be at peace!!
We then drove to Halla University where we performeed the ChunBuShinGong to a class of people. It was much different then he previous college. This group was very open and enjoyed having us. The Hong Ik feeling was there!
Next we went to a Dahn Center to rest and get healings (massages) and then went out to dinner - raw fish was the menu. It was a lot of fun (look at the pics and videos) and pretty good tasting to! We ran back to the center and had to perform within 30 min. :) It was YEHA Day in JeJu. This group of people where a little bit older (but still young at heart). So it was a different feel to the performance, comfortable but not as high energy. It was easy to feel the group around me when I was not as worried about getting every movement correct.
March 25-
We headed back to mainland Korea early this morning.

JeJu Island really showed me what life can be like when we have the mind of a community and not just I. Harmonize first with myself, then others, and naturally it will spread and become common sense. I wish everyone would get the chance to fell this feeling...and soon you will! That is my dream, my vision I am working towards.

A week in review

Of course, it has taken me awhile to post again. Sorry. :) Each day seems like 3 days, which is amazing, so here the shortened version of each day...
March 17-
Tonight we got the opportunity to see Grand Master Lee in a small setting. He was giving a small private lecture to about 20 reporters. He asked us to come!! We performed the ChunBuShingGong and sang Arirang. It was amazing to see him giving a lecture to such a small group, I really got to watch and feel him more deeply. He was sitting in a circle on the floor talking and laughing. The translator was far away and I could not hear what he was talking about that gave me the chance to really hear him.
In the afternoon, it was beautiful outside so a big group of the masters and us played Jeggi (hackisak).
March 18 -
Today was our first YEHA Day! It was in Seoul. I lead stretches in the beginning. It was a great training for me. :) They were playing with all of the mics for me, and trying to put a headset on, and then using a translator. I just smiled big and showed my heart. :) Then we all came out and performed ChunBuShinGong and the Phoenix Dance and then introduced ourselves. Aaronnim presented a lecture, we did Brainwave Vibration and then sang our song. IT WAS SO GREAT! The energy was so open and excited. We could really see our result. They were all so excited to see Americans were also doing Dahn Practice. It felt great to hold hands and really see how our generation can make a difference, can really learn to become one world (HAN). It was a deep experience!
March 19 -
Second Seoul YEHA Day. We came back to Seoul tonight to perform and talk with the southern Seoul region. There were about 50 members there, before we came in it sounded like hundreds of people were inside the training room, there was so much energy. During the performance so much love and energy was shared. YEHA Days are my new favorite thing! haha I wish I could share with you precisely the feeling, but it so hard to explain. The LOVE and HOPE is overwhelming! We all sing "From A Distance" (which yes sounds cheesy) but it is touching in many ways.
That night we went to a famous stream in Seoul. Around the stream is built this beautiful pathway and lights. It was a blast walking around with our group and group leaders. We decided to go to get some snacks and celebrate Brandon and Aaron nim's b-days (which they turned at midnight). We celebrated! :)
March 20 -
Today a few people were sick :) So we got to work on our slideshows and the blog.
At night we had a training with the team leader of our project. We did partner healing (much needed) and then we did a training visualizing energy. Very powerful.

I love Korea :)

Hello everyone! Again, it has been awhile since my last post. I want to share about my experience yesterday. At Kukhakwon (the place we are staying) Grand Master Lee came and gave a lecture to all of the masters in Korea (all 2,300). We got the honor to perform and then sit in the front row. It was amazing (that word does not even give an idea how it was :) ). There were so many masters that they could not fit into the room, there was a second room where they watched from monitors. In the main room, where we performed and Grand Master Lee spoke, there were 1,200 masters.
I have not really been too nervous doing any of the other performances, but this one I was shaking. :) Walking on stage was incredible. There were 1200 people all sitting in rows on the floor and packed in. I am in the front row on stage, so there was nothing between them and me. The energy was incredible!!!! They were so excited to see us (just as we were excited to see them). There applause drowned out any nervousness and I was amped (literally). We first performed ChunBuShinGong and then the Phoenix Dance. During the performance I was trying to circulate the energy, and really seeing what it means to give 100%. I walked off the stage and felt like jello, I was steady and focused but my body was weak. On stage I had to try and fight off the tears (few fell though) it was one of the most and touching and sincere moments I have experienced (I am trying not to cry now :) ). Seeing how amazing life could be if everyone was open and had unconditional love. After us the B-boys performed (we were the only 2 acts). Even the b-boys said they could do things in front of this audience that they had never done or finished before. There performance was wild, and then at the end we came out and did a little difference routine then we usually do. Then together we sang Arirang - the masters chimed in and it was a feeling of oneness-so beautiful.
After our performances we came in and Aaronsbn was giving a lecture. He did amazing - I got some good pointers for my presentation. At the end of his lecture, they played, From a Distance, which is the theme song for being an earth human (a human who lives for the Earth). They invited us up to the stage and we sang with him. All the masters stood up and sang along with us. It was one of the moments that I never want to forget, I felt sooo much love, so much!! I also felt such gratitude for my soul, my life, all of the people in my life, and to be here getting to have this experience.
After that we had a ChunJa Ceremony with Brain Wave Vibration - incredible!!
And then Grand Master Lee came in to speak. He spoke for a little over 2 hours. He is so simple, clear and funny his lectures are enjoyable and I really get a lot! His lecture was all about hope-all the new things that are coming and how this vision of 100 million people will be achieved. The hope was based on the exercise Brain Wave Vibration. With the Korean Masters (and actually the all the schools in Pusan) he is doing a training called HSP 12 Steps English. The first steps are about learning to enjoy and not be scared of English – which is done by learning songs. So we sang a lot! :) It was so great though to hold hands with someone you don’t know and sing but still feel like you have known them your whole life.
After the lecture we shared with our team and then we got to go out to eat to celebrate. And celebrated we did  We went to a famous seafood (of course) restaurant and drank dew liquor. It was a great time to say the least. We continued the festivities at the karaoke bar. We created one! I love you all!!

HSP HSP Sarahapnida

Hello Everyone!!
Here is my blog of my daily (weekly) doings. I am here as a Young Earth-Human Leader. Our focus of the trip is to unite everyone (it is called the Hong-Ik philosophy) as Earth Humans. Being an Earth Human means that we are all from Earth, that no matter what nationality or religion we are all from Earth and we need to all work together as one. In Korea Dahn Yoga is very very popular; actors, government officals, etc all go to Dahn Yoga (Dahnhak). There are many facets to the organization. The man who founded this organization is named Dr. Ilchi Lee. Every Saturday and Sunday we will be performing at his Brain Wave Vibration lecture and during the weeks we will be visiting colleges and talking about Brain Education and also performing.

Today is Day 13! A little late in writing. I have so much to say and write about. But here is the quick version. 

It is 1:30 am and we are just getting into ChunAWon, the place where all of the Korean Masters get training. I am so lucky (I tell myself this often). We are getting a training of a lifetime and so many opportunities and energy given to us. I am trying to be present in every moment and take it all in.
Coming into Korea we were warmly greeted by the 6 people who are traveling with us and the camera (that is also always traveling with us :) ) The 3 Masters who travel with us are the most amazingly warm funny people. I am so grateful for them!! So grateful!! For not speaking much English they have the best sense of humor.

So here is my summary...
Day 1 in Korea-
Arrived in Korea at 6ish in the morning. Greeted so warmly! Ate breakfast (of Kimchi and soup) in the airport and headed to the WHO Headquarters (World HongIk Organization) where we greeted 12 floors of people (in our clothes from the plane and not washed hair). It was amazing to see how few people do so much work. Got better at saying my few Korean phrases (My name is.... I am from....). We then headed to lunch, got a nap and had a training with a very senior Master. After the training when headed to practice for our performance with the Dahn Gun B-boys. A camera crew from MBC was there filming our practice and interviewing etc. Then we got to go home (Kukhakwon) and shower. The Kukhakwon is a place where many Masters live, but also a museum about ancient Korea and the study of the Chun Bu Kyung (the Heavenly Code). There are no beds, but heated floors and mats. It is fun, all the girls sleep together.

Day 2 -
Woke up and went to the First National Treasure of Korea (a gate). The gate was burned down a few weeks ago. So we got to perform at the spot for the rebuild. It was our first performance! It was great, so many people stopped to watch (it was in the middle of the city) and there were sooo many news cameras and people taking pictures. We also signed a wall, hung up Korean national flowers and did many interviews. We watched some footage from the news and it was hilarious! (Once I can find the link, I will post it.) But it was moving watching everyone come together within our group and with the Korean people watching. Our Mission of HongIk has begun! After the performance we went to one of the largest markets in Korea - so fun. There were so many booths of clothes, food, food, food, knick knacks. We of course ate there and then headed back home. At home we watched the movie 8 Below (Ilchi Lee asked we watched it for his meeting with us that night) and ate dinner (which we got a standing ovation as we walked in). Once dinner was finished we helped clean for Ilchi Lee's meeting with us. Then we got the biggest privilege to have a private meeting with Ilchi Lee. We performed for him and then he spoke with us about the importance of this mission. AHHH, so amazing and moving!! He spoke about how we can use our brains 2 ways, one we can control with desires and one we can use to make a HongIk mind (one that believes everyone is one, that we widely benefit the world).

Day 3 -
Today we drove to TaeOn on the west coast of South Korea. There was a huge oil spill a few months ago. It devastating for the people who lived on the west coast! It was a very quiet and humble experience. We got all dressed up in white jumpsuits, waiters and gloves (we looked like astronauts) and headed out to the rocky coast. Many of the big rocks had been cleaned so we were searching and digging for small rocks or places that had been overlooked to clean away the oil. It was an interesting experience, they had bags of old clothing we took and wiped of any residue of oil. I used the time as sincerity training, quieting my mind and focusing on how we are all one, so even the smallest rock was important. After lunch on the beach we started working where the tide was coming in. We worked next to a large group of Koreans working. This was very rewarding; there was a lot of oil in this spot so we had many specific rags that cleaned the oil of the top on the water. So we worked as one together to clean. We had a man staying with us all day video taping us, it was interesting having some one there watching your every move and then at any time asking you questions. It definitely helps you stay in the present moment. 
Day 4 –
We started the day taking a tour of Kukhakwon. The history of Korea really interests me, so I really enjoyed the tour. After that we headed out to the archery range. We practiced for about an hour, without shooting. It is a very beautiful practice, connecting all the movements with your breath. Then we got to shoot 3 times (I did well!) Then we did some things for our camera man (he followed us around all day today too). After that we played Sojuko, a game made up by YEHA Korea. There was a group of 11 of us playing. We had so much fun, great to see every talks game no matter what country you are in.  Then we drove (yet again, we are getting very good at 3-4 hour drives) to southern South Korea and stayed in a hotel.

Day 5 –
Today was our first big performance. We are performing at Ilchi Lee’s lecture on Brain Wave Vibration. The whole event is 4 hours. There are many performances before the lecture and then we start the opening ceremonies with the ChunBuShin Gong. There are then some presentations and then the DahnGun B-boys perform (AMAZING!) at the end of their performance we come out and “dance” with them. I walked on my hands across the stage and did a back walkover. The performance felt good, I was not as nervous as I thought. I smiled a lot and felt my heart. Between the b-boys being in our room and us being Americans us had many girls busting into our rehearsal/changing room.  We ate a great dinner of Blowfish and went to Busan where we stayed in a hotel again. But Ashely and I did not get any room, we got the lovers suite!  There was a round bed with a water pad. So funny. Busan was a beautiful city. IT was on the water front, with many buildings all lit up. There was a huge bridge also lit up. It was a boardwalk with many shops, and a small amusement park.

Day 6 –
We woke up and ran and trained on the beach. Then ate breakfast and headed to our second performance. It was a similar routine, but this time after dancing with the B-boys we sand Arirang with them (a famous old time Korea song about awakening your soul). I felt so much during the performance!! After the lecture we got to shake hands with Ilchi Lee and then we headed to dinner. We ate a lot of sea food both cooked and uncooked. It was fun to try many things I have never thought about eating: snails, intestines, some hard thing that popped in your mouth and you drank this juice (that tasted like sea water). I then drove in a separate car with 2 Masters that do not speak great English. We had a lot of fun trying to talk with each other. We then drove to ChunaWon and arrived at 1 am.
